I am constantly moving my house around to try to get it to ‘flow’ better, and ‘feel’ more ‘homey’. (Is that enough finger quotes for ya?) And I don’t have a creative bone in my BODY, so I’m always envious of those with great taste. Even with personal shopping, I’m the person that walks into Nordstrom, see the mannequin and says – ‘Yes, I’ll take….that entire getup.’ I just can’t visualize in my head what COULD look best, I have to SEE it in front of me and then go for it. That is definitely not the case for Maryanne Hibner and her team at Hibner Design. I am constantly drooling over their posts and matchups of different textures and colors for everything they do in the homes they design with what seems to be a magic wand! Maryanne is the owner and creator of the 13 member, all woman squad at Hibner Design (#Girlpower!). They have a “drama free’ office culture, and only surround themselves with positive vibes and energy as they create beautiful and fun spaces. I recently caught up with Maryanne to chat with her about where her passion for design and style comes from, she shared with me …..
My passion for design and style comes from my Mom. I remember how my Mom would rearrange the living room every weekend, trying new ways to space plan the living room. It was quite a small living room so there really was only 1 way to furnish it. I believe that her frustration is why I went into Interior Design. My Mom was also very chic and fashionable. She loved fashion and used to have her clothes custom made in the Philippines. I wish I had them now…and all of her handbags…they were fabulous!
So if you haven’t already, do yourself a favor and check out this blog they recently posted on space planning – And check your ‘Pins’, as you’ve probably seen and even pinned their layouts on Pinterest. Also stay tuned for another upcoming blog post for the holidays on how to set your table. (I’ll be taking detailed notes on that one for sure!) Maryanne lives in San Clemente and her office is located in Irvine across from the Spectrum. So yea, one of your neighbors is a design genius. Pretty cool, right?
