Alarm goes off, it’s 5 AM – I hit snooze. Then I hit snooze again. Let’s be honest, I’m not ready for Monday to start.
My mind is racing….
Where’s my phone?
I need to check my calendar to see what the kids have going on for the day.
What am I going to make for kid’s lunches?
I need to make a healthy lunch for myself too.
(Ugh, I eat out too much.)
What time is my first conference call…
I hope traffic is kind to me today.
(If I can just leave the house by 6:45 I’ll be golden.)
I need to exercise for just like, 15 minutes.
Oh this bed is so cozzzzy.
I had so much fun with the hubby last night – we need to listen to live music more often.
We need date night morrrrrrrrrre…….
I need to get out of bed and get the day goingggggggggggggg.
Then I realize.
Total Mind Shift (deep breath).
Oh this is nice, I’m going to try to sleep more.
What church service should we go to, the 9 or the 11?
I want to make a big breakfast for everyone. Pancakes, eggs…
Ugh we are out of eggs.
I need to buy groceries today.
And little man needs new socks, he’s growing too fast.
Oh man, C has a travel ball game today in Garden Grove.
Oh crap what time is it?
He needs to be there in an hour.
Wait, it takes an hour to get there?
I’m going to map it.
Ugh where is his uniform?!
Where’s my phone!
Well, there goes breakfast and church.
*Jumps out of bed and scurries to the shower
Sound familiar? And that’s not even a work week. How do we do it, how do we juggle it all and still stay sane!
Let’s educate one another. “It takes a village” (to not only raise kids, but to keep any adult sane) I need to hear from the village. I will admit I am nearly addicted to reading blogs and posts from people and their take on work – life balance of life. And I can never get enough.
I wanted to start this blog to not only bring people together in our little pocket of the world, but also to support each other and share things in this thing called life.
(In my best Prince voice “Dearly beloved, we are gathered today to celebrate this thing called life.”)
I’m a married, full-time working mother of 2. And you can take the white honkey girl out of the corn fields of Illinois, but you can’t take the corn fields out of me. We live in Southern California and live in an awesome little town that surrounds us by the ocean and blesses us with a safe place to raise our kids. We are so incredibly lucky to have so many people and resources at the tips of our fingers. And there is always SO much going on to do with our families or just fun stuff in our community. I found myself looking in 40 different locations when looking for things to do or to stay up to date, so I decided to consolidate everywhere I look into one neat little package (See events or Calendar).
I love connecting with other women, families and people that are in the thick of life like we are. The fun (and the grind) of raising kids, homework, multiple sports – oh and that full-time job or career that can be all consuming at times. Wait, what about date night? Remember your spouse? And did you buy all organic groceries? Don’t forget to exercise first thing in the morning, it helps your metabolism get the move on for the day! There is so much to do in so little time and before you know it. BAM! You’re planning your retirement. In a blink.
In the meantime, I want to enjoy the ride. And meet cool people along the way. (And learn how to ride better. ) Come along for the ride!
